MILL STREET VICTORIAN
In this 1880 Victorian, our clients wanted a colorful home that reflected their very different styles and heritages. Our clients had a wonderful collection of vibrant art that provided much inspiration in terms of color. In the kitchen we began with white countertops and cabinetry to ground the space. We selected a window treatment fabric that had exotic colors, which echoed the art, but and natural history motif, which worked with the age of the home. We pulled the colors from this fabric and the art through the kitchen on the lighting, backsplash, seating and range, and also on furnishings and decor in neighboring rooms. Furnishings throughout the home were kept classic and transitional and relied on color and pattern to make pieces stand out. In the dining room, we restored our clients’ antique sideboard and china cabinet, and contrasted these more traditional pieces with modern chairs and prints.
